According to reports in the Indian press, pop icon Madonna was left enraged after being refused private yoga lessons from a well-known Indian yoga guru.
It would appear that Bikram Choudhury, the man who invented and is behind the phenomenal rise in popularity of Bikram yoga, has refused Madonna’s requests for individual instruction, insisting that she should join in the group classes with the other students.
Choudhury is said to have accused the pop diva of being too temperamental and is quoted as saying: “If you truly want to learn yoga from me, you will have to leave your ego behind you.” After the alleged confrontation he is said to have told a colleague: "If you disagree with her, you find yourself immediately blacklisted." .
The charismatic inventor of Bikram yoga (sometimes referred to as, hot yoga) also stated that none of his other celebrity clients, who include Jim Carrey,George Clooney and Jessica Simpson have ever voiced objections to his methods.
