Could Yoga be Andy Murray’s Secret Weapon?

It’s June in England, the sun is shining (at last) and the “strawberries and cream set” are once again enjoying the delights of Wimbledon fortnight… But I wonder how many of them know that the latest British tennis hope, Andy Murray has a secret weapon…

According to sources close to Lotus Blooming Yoga Retreat in Marbella, Mr. Murray has been spotted visiting a yoga centre in London specialising in Bikram which is an extreme form of yoga. Bikram yoga is also known as “hot yoga” because adherents practice vigorously in a room heated to a sweltering 43 degrees centigrade.

Our source tells us that Murray, who is currently ranked no. 3 in the World, practices Bikram to build up his stamina. It’s obviously working because a couple of years ago the tall Scot famously ran out of steam during at match at his first Wimbledon tournament.

Murray is said to be confident of putting on a good show at this year's event and is optimistic about his chances of securing his first grand slam title.

If you harbour ambitions to become a tennis star, why not book a Spanish yoga holiday at Lotus Blooming! Admittedly, our yoga classes are gentler and definitely more relaxed than those taken by Andy Murray…. But because we are located in beautiful Marbella where the sun shines 300 plus days a year, we guarantee the yoga classes and the welcome you’ll receive will be wonderfully warm.
